Chief Judge Robert S. Cohen wins the 2019 Claude Pepper Award

The Section congratulates Chair-elect Anthony B. Miller!

June 4, 2019 — Our current chair-elect was recently appointed to the Leon County Court. Anthony B. Miller is the General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer for the Florida Agency for State Technology (AST). He has practiced administrative law for approximately 19 years for several state agencies - Department of Financial Services (formerly Department of Insurance), Department of Corrections, Department of Management Services, Florida Lottery, and the Agency for State Technology. From 2015 to 2018, he also served as a Commissioner with the Florida State Retirement Commission. In September 2018, the Leon County Commission appointed him to serve on the Leon County Educational Facilities Authority.

He completed his undergraduate studies in political science at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 1995. He graduated from the FSU College of Law in 2000. He is active in the Florida Bar. He is the Chair-Elect of the Florida Bar Government Lawyer and also the Chair of the section’s CLE Committee. He is an Executive Council member of both the Government Lawyer and Administrative Law sections. He is a member of the Florida Bar’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. The Florida Bar President recently appointed him to serve on the Governmental and Public Policy Advocacy Committee.

Miller fills the vacancy created by the governor’s appointment in March of Judge Stephen Everett to Leon County Circuit Court.
