Executive Council Bio

Maria Pecoraro-McCorkle is a career staff attorney at the Fifth District Court of Appeal where she serves in Central Staff. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked in the Florida Legislature.

Maria is currently the treasurer for the Council of Sections and Government Lawyer Section. She also has previously served as the 7th Circuit Governor for the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors. She is a Fellow in Class VIII of the Wm. Reece Smith Jr. Leadership Academy of the Florida Bar. She was a member of the Special Committee on Greater Public Access to Legal Services, where she served on the pro se subcommittee. She has previously served as the Editor in Chief of The Bulletin for the Administrative Law Section.

Maria is the incoming inaugural Technology Chair for the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She is a past president of the Volusia-Flagler Association for Women Lawyers. She is currently on the Board of Directors for the Volusia County Bar Association.

Maria graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was also inducted into the Order of the Coif. She graduated summa cum laude with university honors from the University of Central Florida.
